On a day when many other schools locally and nationally are reporting lower headline figures than last year for GCSE results, both Bradley Stoke Community School and Abbeywood Community School within The Olympus Academy Trust are in a similar situation which is disappointing.

Post 16 students and staff are celebrating positive outcomes at Bradley Stoke Community School this week, with more students than ever gaining grades to be accepted onto university courses.

In line with the school’s Safeguarding policy the recruitment of all staff is subject to the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006, which came into effect in 2008. This introduced a new vetting and barring scheme for all those working with children and young people.

- overseas criminal record check (where necessary)
